The vision for Mt. Rogers Mountain Missions was born from a desire to better facilitate volunteer efforts to help the citizens of the Mt. Rogers surrounding area.  We are making plans to house our operations in the Riverside Community Center Building in the Riverside area of Chilhowie, VA, which is located at the base of Mt. Rogers in SW Virginia.  Mt. Rogers Mountain Missions can be best described as existing to serve our community in three distinct functions: 

First, is the renovation of the Riverside Community Center Building.  We will serve to solicit and coordinate volunteer groups that are already in place (both local and non-local) and individuals to assist in the renovation of the Riverside Community Center Building.  MRMM will also serve to coordinate funding efforts for this project. 

Secondly, MRMM exists to coordinate and mobilize volunteer efforts to serve the citizens of the Mt. Rogers surrounding area.  MRMM will act as a liason between willing volunteer groups and the citizens who need help.  In this role MRMM will build relationships and alliances with existing volunteer groups, organizations, and churches who show an interest in helping those in our community who are not able to help themselves.

Lastly, MRMM will serve as the ongoing visionary organization to explore the possibilites for activities and events for use of the Riverside Community Center Building.  In this role, the Executive Director and others will actively pursue opportunities with those individuals or groups who express the desire to use the Riverside Community Center Building to promote the Cultural Arts and other positive attributes of the Mt. Rogers area.
